Terms of Service

These terms apply between Stipend and the tuition centre using it. By creating an account you agree to them.

  1. Your account

    Whoever signs up becomes the centre's owner and can invite others as owners, managers or teachers. You are responsible for who you invite, what access you give them, and keeping your own sign-in secure.

    A centre must always have at least one owner. We will not let you remove the last one.

  2. Your data

    Your data stays yours. We use it only to provide the service, and you can export or delete it at any time from Settings.

    You are responsible for having the right to record what you enter, including consent from parents for any student named in the system.

  3. What Stipend does

    Stipend calculates pay from the rates and attendance you enter, and produces payslips from them.

    It does not transfer money, file anything with any authority, or act as your accountant. Check the figures before paying anyone.

  4. What remains yours

    Meeting your obligations as an employer — CPF, taxes, record keeping and employment terms — is your responsibility, as is the accuracy of the rates and attendance you enter, since those decide what people are paid.

  5. Availability

    Stipend is in early access and free to use. We aim to keep it available and accurate, but it is provided as is. We may change or withdraw features, and if we discontinue the service we will give you notice and time to export your data.

  6. Liability

    As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by figures entered incorrectly. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

  7. Ending your account

    You can close your centre at any time from Settings. This deletes your data permanently, so export it first.

    We may suspend an account used unlawfully or in a way that puts other users at risk.

  8. Changes to these terms

    If we change these terms significantly we will ask you to accept the new version. Each acceptance is recorded with its date.

  9. Governing law

    These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction.
