Privacy Policy

Stipend helps tuition centres work out what to pay their teachers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to everyone who uses Stipend.
What we collect
Only what payroll needs:
- Students: full name. Nothing else.
- Staff: name, email, role and pay rates.
- Teaching: classes, timetables, attendance.
- Pay: amounts calculated, and who approved them.
- Sign-ins: browser and location, so you can spot ones you don't recognise.
We do not collect student contact details, dates of birth, addresses, parent details, photographs, identification numbers or payment details.
How we use it
To run your centre's payroll and show you the results. We do not sell your data, advertise to you, or use it to train anything.
Who can see it
Owners see their own centre. Managers see classes and students, but not pay. Teachers see only their own lessons and pay. No centre can see another centre's data.
Who is responsible
Your centre decides what to record, so your centre is responsible for it — including getting consent from parents for any student named in the system. Stipend holds and processes that data on your centre's instructions.
Where it is kept
With trusted providers who supply our hosting, storage and email. They act only on our instructions, and some store data outside Singapore. We use no advertising or tracking services.
How long we keep it
For as long as your centre is active, so payroll history stays intact.
If someone asks to be removed, we replace their name and email and disconnect their sign-in. Past pay records keep their amounts but no longer identify them.
If you close your centre, everything is deleted and cannot be recovered. Export your data first.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Most of this is in Settings: anyone can correct their own name and email and download their own data, and owners can export or delete the whole centre. For anything else, email us and we will reply within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access limits are enforced by the system itself rather than only by what the screen shows. You can review your active sign-ins in Settings and end any of them.
If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the authorities as required.
Changes
If we make a significant change we will tell you in the app. The date above shows the current version.
